What is the Supply Chain Rotational Program?
We have multiple exciting opportunities in our business today for college graduates, which starts with a designed and customized 6-month rotational program to allow you to “get to know our business” before you start your functional role within one of our teams. The goal of the rotational program is to provide visibility into various aspects and roles within an organization of our size and scale while balancing personal development and interactions within a dynamic work environment.
At the outset of our program you will be allocated a project designed to ensure that you are able to take full advantage of the hands-on experience and assignments as you journey through Foodbuy’s functional areas of:
Finance: Evaluate spend data to understand trends in current purchase activity and opportunities for improvement and growth
Distribution: Manage distribution partnerships, managing program guides, and tracking compliance to ensure programs deliver expected value
Sourcing:Lead supplier selection process through RFI/ RFPs and contract negotiations to deliver optimal value and ensure our programs are competitively priced
Category Development:Implement new program and manage day-to-day supplier relationships, keeping ahead of trends within assigned categories
Client / Account Management: Understand the unique qualities of the business and help develop customized programs and portfolios to move the business forward
Through the rotational program, you will have the dedicated one-on-one sponsorship of a senior manager who will guide and support you through the program, helping facilitate knowledge-sharing and best practices within the organization. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to present the outputs of your rotational project to the senior management team!
We believe this level of investment at the beginning provides a more effective introduction and experience to our business than moving straight into a functional role. More importantly, for those people without a business degree or supply chain experience, it facilitates a learning process to support them in what may be a very unfamiliar setting. Additionally, for those who don’t have PowerPoint or Excel skills or are looking to refine them -we have training modules to support everyone from beginner to expert.
What Will You Do?
You will have the opportunity to engage in various projects to help support Foodbuy clients and members. Activities include conducting spend analysis, providing supply market research, and identifying sourcing value levers and recommendations on how best to leverage the market to help support Sourcing, Category Development, and Distribution in their negotiations with suppliers. Utilizing business models to conduct a thorough analysis of both the internal financial data and external market research, this information will be synthesized to make informed recommendations that will be utilized by the Sourcing team when creating their strategies to deliver competitive advantage for our clients.
Provides in-depth analysis of the supply market, utilizing business tools and techniques such as GAP,PESTLE, SWOT, and Porter’s Five Forces, for the Sourcing team to utilize in their negotiations with suppliers
Provides rigorous analysis of spend and financial data, market trends, and industry dynamics
Develops and presents sound recommendations to Sourcing team in order to build strategy for supplier negotiations
Leverages eSourcing technology platforms where appropriate
Builds and maintains strong relationship with key internal stakeholders within the divisions and functional areas
Ability to quickly collect, assess, and incorporate data into comprehensive, easy to follow presentations
Supports supplier selection process and provides data to ensure informed selection decisions
Got the Goods? (aka “requirements”)
Requires a Bachelor’s degree received by August 2018 or any time prior, with preferred majors to include data analytics, business, finance, supply chain, or similar
1 year of work experience or related internship is preferred
This is an entry-level position andno managementexperience is required
Evidence of strong analytical, critical thinking, and project management skills
Proficient oral / written communication in order to effectively explain complex ideas and approaches
Adaptable to change and able to thrive in a dynamic environment
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Organized and high attention to detail
Technology-savvy to leverage eProcurement and eSourcing tools
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
